The Stained Glass Protector is a Heavy weapon introduced in the 24.4.0 update. It can be obtained from the Multiverse Birthday Season Pixel Pass.
Description
It's a mysterious and fairy-style cannon that instantly explodes at the pointed location (or player) when fired. It has a low 106 basic damage as it's a heavy weapon with cluster bombs attribute. It has no travel time and possesses several attributes.
Appearance
It's a geometrical cannon made of dark blue crystal and glass, with 4 smaller pieces of glass that move around the body. The texture of these glasses is just like the "Stained glass windows" in the Cathedral. Additionally, there's a crystal sphere on the muzzle that serves as ammo and the point where the explosion occurs.
When it fires, the covers on the sides will open and weapon itself fires at the target. When reloading, the character takes out the crystal sphere and replaces it with another one. Furthermore, there will be some glass fragments floating around the character, connected by mysterious lines, just like an asteroid belt.
Performance
It get three primary attributes, Blindness , Weakening
and Damage reflection
Cluster Bombs ability is his way of attacking, which splits the main bomb into smaller bombs. The small bombs will spread in random horizontal directions.
- Both blindness
and weakening
will make enemies very uncomfortable. They will lose 25% damage that they should deal and find it harder to notice what is happening in front of them
- 25% of damage reflection
may prevent enemies from initiating attacks, because they will also suffer damage when attacking you. They need to consider whether they can afford to hurt you or not
- Its
attribute will expand its coverage area and increase the overall damage compared to its basic damage.
It has a decent compatibility with weapons that have a very long delay, such as Ultimatum, as it is a Fixed delay weapon. Because of this, do not use it for 3 catspam unless you have no other weapon.
Overall, Stained glass Protector displayed good strength in both support function and damage output, with low practice time.
Strategy
Basic GamePlay
As a cluster bomb cannon, it does not have any travel time at all, which means it will be easier to hit the target most of the time compared to most heavy weapons.
However, it seems that a 25% Reflection is not enough to make enemies feel bad. In fact, it's easy to make enemies commit suicide when they are low on health. The previous damage could be caused by the Stained Glass Protector itself.
By the way, its debuff will actually "cripple" people, and there will be a short fixed delay when you switch to it, and no any delay output. So it's a good strategy to attack with the Stained Glass Protector first, and then switch to other weapons that you mainly use.
Tips
- Use it more often when there are several enemies stacked in one place; that will cause devastation to them.
- As it has zero travel time, you could try aiming at players in the air (if you aim badly, don't try this)
- Try to attack moving targets as much as possible; they will receive more damage than stationary players.
- Here's a recommended module suit: Damage Module, Shrapnel, and Pouch, because it does not require acceleration of cannon speed (Never mind the previous sentence if you want a combination skill).
- Shrapnel is very important for a cluster bomb type cannon; this will increase the coverage area of the separated bombs and dramatically increase the total damage. However, be careful, because when your Shrapnel module reaches a high level, your explosion area will be big and may hurt yourself. In that case, you will receive a debuff from yourself when you do a rocket jump unless you jump first.
Counters
- Try not to be attacked first; otherwise, you will have a very low chance of fighting back.
- Try to stay in the air instead of on land. This will increase the difficulty for the user trying to hit you.
- Give somebody a taste of their own medicine, as there are few ways to counter a Stained Glass Protector User.
Recommended Maps
It will fit almost all maps, but significantly, small maps will be better
Here are examples
Equipment Setups
- If you could get a weapon with a barrier, such as the Rusted Revolver, the resultant damage from others to you will only be 37.5%. (use this barrier weapon after weakening the enemy)
Changelog
- Initial release.
Etymology
From the texture of these glasses and the visual effect (Blindness) of Stained Glass Protector, we could regard its etymology as "Stained glass windows" in the Cathedral (or simply called Cathedral Glass). The principle of their action is that when sunlight hits the glass, it creates a brilliant and dazzling effect. Even in the age of electric light, the colorful light radiating from the Cathedral at night still retains its atmospheric charm.
Trivia
- Although it may not be practical in real combat, training with friendly dummies can reveal a hidden attribute——Healing Area
. The friendly dummies will be healed with 0 health when you stand by their side.
- This situation is reminiscent of the recent bug with the Aztec Pixel Pass cape, the Quetzalcoatl Cape, which incorrectly applied the code from the Royal Guardian, suggesting that this might also be a result of copying from other weapons while omitting certain values.
- In the earliest version, its Blindness
attribute will inflict PC players with a completely opaque texture. This will render them completely blind and cause them to lose all vision.
- But luckily, it was fixed quickly.
