Sneak and Seek is a minigame introduced in the 23.1.0 update. It replaces Imposter.

How to Play

The Game plays similarly to its counterpart, except now everyone wields a locator, and no one gets to vote, report dead bodies, or start emergency meetings.

Ten players are put into a lobby, 1 being the imposter and the rest being crewmates. The crewmates must complete tasks around the spaceship, the imposters must sabotage and eliminate all of the crewmates.

Every crewmate is given an Imposter Locator, which has an embedded Radar, Sound emitter and a Meter. If an imposter is in the range of said tracker, a sound will play and will go fast depending on how close the imposter is, a skull will appear on the radar, and a meter will start displaying under that radar. The Crewmates also can run! This is useful when they encounter the imposter.

Due to the Vote system getting removed, The Imposter is now far more distinguishable than in Imposter. Being mutated with green crystals and acid around his head and body, and a Crab Hand now welded to his right arm.

Once you win a match alive, as an Imposter or Crewmate, you will get 10 pieces for an item called "Monster Claw". It is the item the imposter has welded to his right arm, that we talked about before.

Maps

Just like Imposter, there's only one map. a spaceship with different rooms where tasks could be completed, named "Sneak and Seek". it was slightly changed to make it seem like everything is different than last time.

Hiding Spots

On the ship, there are many lockers. There is also a bookshelf in the Captain's room that you can go inside. Unfortunately, these aren't good to hide on, since most players know about them. The lockers also don't block X-ray. A very unknown strategy is going to the Captain's room, climb up the stairs and jump into a shelf near a sofa. The monster usually won't see you in top of the shelf, and if they notice, you can run away easily. There are also vents on the map, but they aren't good to hide on as well. There is a very hidden spot in the laboratory, if you want to hide there.

Strategies

As the Monster

  • Try to track were which people went where.
  • If you chase someone, try to predict which rooms or hiding spots they will go.
  • The hearing ability allows the monster to detect the footsteps of crewmates. This is useful if a chased crewmate cannot be found.
  • The sight ability allows the monster to fully detect crewmates through solid objects, even through lockers. This is useful for finding any remaining crewmates.

As a Crewmate

  • Do your tasks only after you have completed hiding.
  • Only do tasks if there are more than three people alive as it's too risky with only one or two people.
  • Don't use too much of the running ability during the start, save it for later.
  • Try to memorize the beeping speed of the detector to help you know where the monster is during a task. When it reaches the second ring or beeps rapidly, hide immediately.
