The Phoenix Blood is a Legendary Throwing gadget introduced in the 20.0.0 update.

Appearance

This weapon is a reskin of the Molotov Cocktail but it's much more effective. It appears to be a red liquor bottle, implied by the gadget's name to be holding a flammable liquid called Phoenix Blood. It has a white tag on the front, with what appears to be a Phoenix on the tag.

Performance

This weapon behaves exactly like the Molotov Cocktail, where the player throws the bottle from their right hand. When it lands on the ground, it would explode and emit a blue fiery radius on impact. The fire deals high burning damage over time to players nearby. Moreover, even the player who threw the bottle themselves can get damaged by the fire. Upon use, it's Duration starts and its AOE will remain until over. Afterward, the user must wait a short cooldown before he/she can throw it again.

Tips

  • Use this the same way you would use the Molotov Cocktail.
  • Be aware of the Looping attribute, and aim slightly higher than your intended target.
  • This gadget deals more damage when an opponent is hit with a direct shot, instead of an AOE shot.
  • Be careful, as this gadget can inflict yourself with Burning.png as well.
  • This weapon possesses a large explosion radius, so try throwing this in narrow or cramped corridors to kill enemies. Not to mention, the fire left behind will also prevent enemy players from making an approach.
  • Throw it at multiple players, thus receiving multiple kills, and earning multiple points.
  • If you have a good aiming and timing, throw it while you are using the Jetpack to get the "Death from Above" and gadget-related achievement points.
  • Throw it at a players' feet. The player may die from the explosion due to its powerful Burning effect.
  • If they are able to evade the explosion, they can still be damaged or even killed from the lingering fire.
  • In modes like Flag Capture or Point Capture, try throwing this at your team's flag/captured point, as the leftover burning will prevent enemy players from capturing either, which can allow you to capture points/flags without the risk of others capturing your team's point or flag.
  • Because of the cocktail's high efficiency, try using this against players who use the Battle Mech or Demon Stone, as it will deal high damage to these transformations, and the burning will also finish them off if they don't move fast enough.
  • This also works for Robot Samurai users, but be careful since the samurai is much more mobile, unless if they stepped on this gadget's leftover AOE.
  • Try to force other players into the burning area to get rid of them.
  • Use weapons such as the Eraser to pull them into the fire.
  • Use any slowdown weapon like Nitrogen Sprayer or Icicle Minigun to be able to get the timing to throw it at your enemy.
  • This weapon can damage your teammates, so be careful where you throw it.
  • This gadget needs a moment before it can be thrown, so try to predict your opponent's movement to prevent them from running away.

Counters

  • Attack the user from long ranges.
  • Stay away from crowded areas with many players, such as hallways.
  • Use a weapon with the Gadget Block attribute to prevent the activation of this gadget.
  • When this explodes, it leaves an area of burning, so make sure to stay away from where the bottle detonates.
  • The burning is very lethal and is able to kill even a maxed armor player easily if they're not careful.
  • This burning is also able to kill the person who threw the bottle, so attempt to lure them into the area of fire.
  • Stay out of range from players that use this to avoid getting burned. The bottle doesn't go very far, and once it explodes, there's time to run.
  • Pick off users from a large distance, especially in high places, since the Phoenix Blood doesn't travel very far in the air, and will activate in mid-air before it can reach you. However, don't go jumping off so soon, as the burning can still kill you, even in mid-air.
  • Stay away from the fire this leaves behind as it can deal high damage even for a maxed armor player.
  • Use the Disabler to prevent people from using this for a while.
  • Gadget Block weapons are also useful against users.
  • Use the Reflector(Gadget) to let the enemy take a big amount of damage instead.
  • Using this yourself can be effective when countering.
  • Use the Singular Grenade to prevent the user from coming close to you.
