The Gift Stealer is a Special weapon introduced in the 22.0.0 update. It can be obtained from the Christmas Bandits Lottery.
Description
Gift Stealer is a fast firing grapple weapon, that hosts an abundance of attributes, you are able to travel across the map at ludicrous speeds, rivaling that of the Vertical Grip Device in terms of grapple weapons.
Appearance
It is mainly colored in a bright red, with green stripes across the bear trap serving as the hook. Gift Stealer's base consists of a circular body, with a white spiral, that holds Christmas lights, both dangling below, and inside the base, acting as the rope attached to the hook. There is also a handle resting just above, with a yellow bow tie attached. The character also holds a snow globe in the other hand that houses a red present. This snow globe has a red and white base, and a golden chain wrapped around and drooping off the side, with a bell stuck to the side.
When fired, the bear trap goes flying out before retracting back. Reloading sees the bear trap slamming shut, and the character hitting it a few times, in order for it to open up.
Performance
In terms of attacking, it boasts numerous useful attributes, but none of them have a practical use, as Gift Stealer is meant to be used as a grapple. Besides that, if you are lucky to hit the enemy, it'll do a good lot of damage, but take caution as it does have travel time.
As a grapple however, you could travel across the map in no time. This grapple rivals the likes of Vertical Grip Device, in terms of speed, and capacity, making this one of the best grapple based weapons in the game.
Strategy
Tips
- Unlike most weapons, it's more suitable as a utility weapon than an offensive weapon.
- It is useful for getting on top of high places such as on top of rooftops or large structures.
- Use this in close range, since the projectile cannot reach far distances.
- Avoid death barriers within maps you play in.
- Aim for the player and aim best at their head in close range.
- Do not target far spots: you will waste one ammunition and you might not be able to go to the spot.
- Immediately switch to any other weapon (except the Fatality Hook, the Pulling Sucker Gun, and the Portal Cannon) before capturing the flag in Flag Capture.
Counters
weapons and shotguns can quickly finish users off.- Strafe around the user while firing to avoid getting hit.
- Try running away, in particular, try rocket jumping away from its users.
- Use Gadgets like Barrier or Stealth Bracelet.
- Aim for its users from long range.
- If a user lands on you, try to fend them off with powerful weapons.
