Description

Locator is a science-themed weapon that normally can't be used in any gamemode besides Sneak and Seek. It is only used to detect the monster.

Appearance

Locator is a yellow radar attached to a gray body with a handle. There is a screen on the top. From the front of the device, where the radar is located, a thick blue wire goes to the middle of the body.

Performance

When the monster is near, the locator begins to show it on the screen. The monster is showed relative to the center of the screen, where the player is. The closer the monster, the closer it is to the center of the screen.

There is a scale at the bottom of the screen. It shows the monster's distance to the player. The scale has 5 tiers, each tier having a louder beeping sound to indicate how close the monster is.

Although it is a rare sight to see, Locator technically can be used in normal matches through a bug. It deals a considerable amount of damage, but it is inefficient due to the short range and the lack of the attack VFX.

Changelog

23.1.0

  • Initial release.

Trivia

  • The weapon does not have an attack animation, but has an idle animation for some reason.
  • Unlike most othet weapons, the player holds it in their left hand.
  • Locator was accidentally added into the Melee Collector's Chest for a few hours. Locators obtained by this way were not retrieved.
  • It has the exact same attributes as Complete Grinder. However, the Chainsaw is unfunctional.
