By sticking a mine to your enemy you won't only look at the show of how he tries to get rid of the mine. If you get close to the mine and jump, you will be able to do a flip.

—Weapon's description in Gallery

The Demoman is a Heavy weapon introduced in the 10.6.1 update.

Description

It is a yellow gun that shoots yellow sticky mines with a red dot in the middle of them. It deals medium-high damage, a below-average fire rate, low capacity, and low mobility.

Appearance

The gun has a yellow-orange color scheme. It has iron sights, a large cubical drum magazine, and brown grips.

Performance

This weapon shoots yellow sticky mines from its large nozzle. These sticky mines are yellow cubes with tiny red dots that are on the center of each face of the mine. The projectiles have the sticky mines attribute, where the bombs stick to a surface until it detonates. Its other traits include looping shot, area damage, and contact detonator, leaving an explosion with a medium-sized blast radius either on contact with a player or when its timer expires.

When reloading, the player takes out the large magazine of mines and replaces it with another one. It has no delay mechanics.

Strategy

Tips

  • Place its mines on hidden spots on where players mostly pass through.
  • It is a good counter against melee players.
  • Only use it for making traps as it performs poorly on direct combat.
  • Lure targets to the mines.
  • Use this in close range maps, as it can trap targets easily.
  • In Point Capture, place its mines on the center of the spot because your enemies/enemy will never know if there are mines.
  • In Block Crash, use the ability to jump on sticky mines to save yourself from falling into the lava by putting the mines on the wall.

Counters

  • The mines can be noticed by their beeping noises, so take caution if you hear it somewhere near you.
  • Pick off its users from long ranges.
  • Be wary on small areas where the bombs might be rigged.
  • Try to avoid small corridors, especially in Silent School, where there might be a mine around every corner.

Recommended Maps

Equipment Setups

Use a faster weapon to find trap spots and lure targets into the traps.

Changelog

10.6.0

Initial release.

22.3.2

Explosion radius increased from 2.5 to 3.8, detection radius decreased.

Trivia

  • It is rather similar to the Stickybomb Launcher, or more specifically, the Scottish Ressistance , used by the Demoman in Team Fortress 2, as the sticky bombs can stick to the ground, floors, walls, etc. But in PG3D, it has a timer and contact detonator, other than being detonated at will. Another notable difference is that the Stickybomb Launcher doesn't emit any noise when it's rigged, only having a brief light pulse when it's armed.
  • The bombs could also be stacked in Pixel Gun but it goes through each other in Team Fortress 2.
  • Although Area Damage isn't shown in this weapon's list of attributes, it still has it.
  • In Siege mode, you can not stick the bombs onto the ram.
  • Its firing sound is shared by the Blighter and Military Grenade Launcher.
