The Sad Magnet is a Heavy weapon introduced in the 21.4.0 update.

Description

The Sad Magnet is a Heavy weapon of the Mythical rarity introduced in the 21.4.0 update's Cartoon Lottery.

Appearance

The Sad Magnet appears to be a reskin of the Super Magnet.

The Sad Magnet takes the appearance of a cartoon-themed monochrome magnet. It features both the north and south poles of a magnet and is connected by various machinery with a sad face alongside to the weapon.

Performance

When the fire button is pressed, the Sad Magnet emits a rocket-like projectile with travel time. When it comes in contact with a player or surface, it instantly pulls the user toward the intended target similar to the Pulling Sucker Gun. If projectiles hits players, the Sad Magnet deals moderate damage and blocks his/her use of Gadgets .

This weapon has Fixed Delay, meaning that every time a player switches to this weapon, a short pull-out animation will play lasting less than a second before the player can fire.

Strategy

Tips

• Use it like the Vertical Grip Device, but it has a slightly slower firerate.
• If using a pulling to target weapon is beneficial to your strategy, it's recommended to use such a weapon from a category other than heavy; since this category usually contains some of the most powerful area-damage weapons, you would be potentially weakening the overall strength of your loadout.
  • Weapons such as the Pulling Sucker Gun or Jet Spear are better options, freeing up your heavy slot for damage weapons.
• Aim for surfaces that are in close to medium range, since doing so will give you the maximum travel distance.
• Quickly pulling to targets consecutively can make it much harder for your opponent to predict your next move, a strategy that could be useful in Duels.

Counters

• Use Homing Rocket, Cyber Bees Swarm or Clockwork Nutcracker if you can't hit them.
• Try to predict where they will land, and use an Area Damage weapon to hit a larger area.

Equipment Setups

Equip a high damage shotgun such as the Viking to quickly burst down your enemy once you get near them. In addition, equip a Sniper such as the Explosive Carmel to pick off users from longer ranges.

Trivia

• It appears very similar in design to the Super Magnet.
• It is the first Heavy weapon with the Pulling Towards The Target attribute, and it is the fourth weapon that has this attribute, the ones previous being the Pulling Sucker Gun, Vertical Grip Device and Fatality Hook.
• In Block Crash, it can pull the user across more than half of the arena (About 19 blocks from an arena's closed gate).
